James Padlock obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from COE College. He obtained a certification and a Master of Science degree in Administrative Leadership from UW Milwaukee. In 2009, he was a finalist to become Associate Principal of the Year, awarded by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrator.

In his career as an educator, he has gained a wide range of skills in classroom teaching. He is also proficient in developing and presenting differentiated lessons within multiple grade levels and subject areas. As an accomplished educator, James Padlock gained skills in teambuilding, exceptional education law and strategies, leadership training, and educational program evaluation. Aside from being a special education teacher and coach, he is also an exceptional education teacher and behavior specialist.

At present, James Padlock is a special education teacher and coach at Northside High School in Roanoke, Virginia.
